Sanaris & Natalie's Birthday Party

We decided to have 2 birthday parties wrapped up into one and it was a complete success. My cousin's daughter, Natalie, who was turning 6 years old did not know she would be having a surprise birthday party along with my daughter, Sani, who was turning 3.

Natalie had a My Little Pony themed birthday party, meanwhile Sani had a Minnie and Daisy's Bowtique birthday (she prefers Daisy best).

The picture below is of Sanaris wearing the outfit that I made for her, along with the hair bows that her aunt made for her. She owns ABelle's Bowtique, check it out by visiting here.
This is my Sani with her "greenma" as she likes to call her (grandma, my mom).

This is the cake that my husband, my sister and I made for our little darling.
You can't possibly imagine how hot it was that day. So much that the cake was butter cream and it MELTED! What a disaster, but it was eaten and loved regardless. I will stick to my usual fondant next time.

See the cake all melted? Haha, oh well. We added some sparklers for pure fun, especially since her birthday is in July. She loved it!

It's tough to have to choose which cupcake you want to eat.

...and it looks like we have a winner! Pink bow beats the purple bow.

Since Natalie's birthday party was of My Little Pony, we had pony rides for the kids. Isn't this picture the cutest? Funny thing is he's really a male.

Here is a picture of both of the birthday girls enjoying their pony ride.

This is Sani on her birthday pony ride.
This is my son trying to help his little cousin go to the bounce house.
This is Dominic playing in the bounce house.
Sani after her change of clothes since it was so hot that she was sweating.
 Cutting Natalie's birthday cake. She's a big girl now...a whole 6 years!
Here are all of the kids gathered together to take their picture.
Natalie blowing out her birthday candles.

The best part of all is that at the end of the day, the kids were exhausted and they came home for showers and off to bed they went! Truth is...I showered and went to bed also, I was exhausted!

The End! :)

Where the Magic Happens!

Coordinating for family to get together and go to Disney has been difficult. I am so excited to announce that tomorrow evening we will be on our way to Orlando. The kids are so excited! My husband and I are excited to see the facial expressions of the kids as soon as they see the castle.

Today we went shopping to get the kids some cute Minnie and Mickey outfits so they can wear. I even went as far as making these cute little bows for my Sani to wear.

I can't wait to share the pictures of our first time to Disney with you.

Well, until next time...Toodles!

The Kiddos New Room

Yesterday we finally had time to start decorating the kids' room.

Our little boy and little girl are sharing a room in the meantime. The cartoon they have in common that they love are Minnie and Mickey. Therefore, we decided that we would decorate their room this way.

I had my husband re-decorating by painting the kids daybed from a natural brown wood to a flat black to match the dresser. He also painted a wooden frame we had to black to match the room. The frame has a Mickey Mouse puzzle I completed some time ago for Dominic. Perhaps I should go and find a Minnie Mouse one now for my Sanaris.
While my husband was painting outside I was organizing the kids toys. In their toy boxes I found a bunch of Mickey and Minnie's they have received over the years. One of the girls at work also gave me some Disney snow globes and a Fantasia canvas for their room.
I have to change their lamps now to something that matches the decor. I think I will add some black/pink/red/yellow ribbon to it. I will see what I do with it as I go along. I also have a little black shelf that will be going into the room and I found these perfect little Mickey and Minnie figurines to make them their snow globes of each of their characters for that shelf. You can make your own snow globe by following my tutorial here. It was actually quite funny this morning when I hand Minnie over to my daughter she says, "What happened Minnie? You stuck?" hahaha. It was the cutest thing ever. My son, on the other hand, was not the least bit excited about this. He tells me, "I want Mickey outside not inside." I think once he sees his whole room pieced together he will love it. He is just like his father in that aspect, he needs to see it all pieced together to see the bigger picture.
I will have to post some pictures later of the completed room since it's only half way completed right now.

Until next time! Toodles! (yes, pun intended...lol)

I am back posting the pictures of the semi-completed room, we still have to paint and hang up a picture frame or two.

And those are the kids having fun jumping on their new bed after being told not to. Apparently they couldn't resist taking the pictures without jumping. :)

Minnie Mouse Cake

I must admit that I am BEAT! What a night last night and what a day today.

Let me start by saying that last night I went to sleep at 1am, on a work night, which is very unusual for me considering that I <3 to sleep. My husband went to sleep even later, which he always does anyways, since we went through the trouble of trying to make a Minnie Mouse cake at the last minute. I love baking and making the fondant cakes, however I have to have the time to dedicate to them while I am doing them. Those things are so time consuming. It's amazing how long it takes to bake a cake and how fast it gets eaten. Breaks my heart every time.

To make a long story short, I had to wake up early to deliver it and I had to be at work early too for a delivery I was expecting. Overall I am just so thankful that it is Friday and that I finally get to kick my feet up and relax.

Where was I, oh yeah, the cake. Well I think it came out pretty good. My son LOVES Mickey Mouse and my daughter loves anything Minnie Mouse or Princess. Therefore, you can imagine what a great time we had making this cake with them nearby. They both wanted to play with Minnie. Upon delivery, my son began crying because he wanted to go to the party. More specifically, he wanted to go to the party because he thought that he would be able to try the cake if he went. All in all, I'm excited with the outcome of it. What do you think?...well you can be the judge of it. ;)

Ta-ta for now, I think I shall take a nap.
