This is a picture of the sun I took today coming out from behind the clouds. There were the beautiful trees that almost looked like Christmas trees. I loved the view.

Enjoying the Weather
Today was beautiful, the weather was just perfect. We decided to "Carpe Noctum" and seize the night. We went out for a little stroll with the kids, took a picture with them by some lights, took out some of our Christmas decorations to start decorating our place. The hours passed by so fast, but I got to enjoy my little ones. If it weren't for moments like these....what would become of us?

Black Friday
Oh My Goodness, is all I have to say about Black Friday!
The lines were so crazy and wrapped around the buildings. People were camping out in front of stores, from what I heard since Monday! They were only letting people in 50 at a time in order to prevent "chaos," as the Best Buy employee told me.
You may be asking what I was doing on Black Friday at Best Buy, well lets just say a picture is worth a 1,000 words....
I actually have the 35mm version of the Canon Rebel and I loved it so much that I had to purchase the digital SLR version of it. I have been learning a bit more about photography as I go along. This just makes me want to get outside and snap away. So ... out I go...until next time.

This is what I was there for! I purchased a Canon Rebel Digital SLR Camera, which I am so happy with by the way. I saved some major $$ bucks $$ on it. Besides that, I am so excited to start snapping away. The best part of all was that just for buying the camera, they gave me a free carrying case, a UV filter, an 8GB memory card. Also, just for purchasing the camera, I was able to get the additional 75-300mm lens for only $100!
These are some of the pictures I took today while I tested it out.

Cheese
One day while teaching my daughter to smile and say cheese, I captured this beautiful photo of her. I just love it so much because of her innocence, the really big smile she gave me. It makes me smile and laugh every time. Kids are just too funny :)
Oh by the way, in case you're wondering what program I used to edit the picture, there are quite a few. If you're using Google Chrome as your web browser then go to the Google Store and download some of their free programs such as: Pixlr-o-matic, Picnik and Befunky Photo Editor, just to name a few. They're a lot of fun to play with and best of all they are free, unless you'd like to use their premium items of course.
(Disclaimer: In case you're wondering...I am not getting paid by Google to advertise for them, I am simply specifying the things I enjoy.)

Canvas Photo Transfer Tutorial
With all of this rainy weather here in Homestead, FL.... it's perfect for staying indoors and crafting! I wanted to do some photo transfers onto canvas and purchased my supplies to do so. Canvas was also on sale, which was an added bonus ;)
Supplies you will need:
-Mod Podge Gloss (to seal the picture in)
-Liquitex Gel Medium (to transfer the photo)
-Canvas (any size)
-Pictures (size needs to match size of canvas & needs to be printed on regular printer paper)
-Painting Brush/ Foam Brush
-Cup of Water
-Rag/Towel
Step 1: Print your pictures in color/black & white/sepia depending on your preference. Make sure to print this on regular printer paper...NOT picture paper.
Step 2: Trim the picture to be flush around the edges with the canvas.
Step 3: Using your brush, paint top of the canvas using the Liquitex Gel Medium.
Step 4: Lay your photo upside down on the canvas being sure to smooth out all of the bubbles and that it is centered. (It should look like the photo below).

Step 5: Let it dry. Usually overnight, if you can't wait, then at least a couple of hours until it dries fully.
Step 6: Bring out your rag and a cup of water. Wet the rag and then rub wet rag over the photo on canvas. You will now start to see the photo underneath.
Step 7: Keep rubbing rag over the canvas/photo until the paper starts to peel completely.
Step 8: Dry it up with the dry side of the rag.
Step 9: Seal using brush and by rubbing Mod Podge Gloss over it. It will look white on top, but it will dry clear.
Step 10: Allow the sealer to dry fully before hanging or displaying.
Step 10: Enjoy your new photos :)
